GPC Credential

In 2002, committed to the creation of a national credentialing program for grant professionals, the Grant Professionals Association (GPA) formed the Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI) to develop and administer the field’s first and only psychometric certification program. GPCI was established as a means of ensuring the credibility, integrity and independence of the certification process that is required by the National Commission of Certifying Agencies.

GPCI (pronounced “gypsy”) is an affiliate 501(c) (3) public benefit corporation of the Grant Professionals Association (GPA). It is dedicated “to the identification of grant professionals who display outstanding expertise and ethical practices and the development of a certification process that meets and exceeds the psychometric standards for education and psychological testing.”

Through certification, GPCI hopes to strengthen the nonprofit and public sector’s ability to serve their constituents. In all of its endeavors, GPCI maintains the ethical standards and mission promulgated by AAGP.

Read the GPC brochure for more information about what distinguishes the GPC credential from a “certificate” program, and then visit the GPCI website to find out if you are eligible to apply for the certification examination.
